Procedure Description:
This young woman wanted a more attractive jaw line. Surgery was done though a single, small incision beneath her chin and involved removing deep fat, tightening muscles and placing a small chin implant. While her results from the surgery are excellent, the addition of Botox to weaken her overactive mentalis muscle is what really refined the outcome. As can be seen in these photos taken a year after her surgery, she has a lot of muscle tension when closing her lips. Surgery alone does not address this, so Botox was necessary to create this fabulous result on this lovely woman. My experience is that such injections need to be repeated for a couple of years before they are no longer needed, and the muscle stays relaxed.
