Patient Info
Procedure Description:
At the age of eight, this teenage boy suffered a trauma to his nose that ultimately led to a severe infection in his nose, causing him to lose the cartilage altogether and for his nose to collapse. One year before consulting with me, he had undergone surgery that was meant to rebuild his nose and improve his breathing, but that operation left him with a deformed nasal bridge and even less ability to breathe.
During his operation, I found a large, displaced Medpor implant that was adherent to his tissues and the anatomy of his tip was virtually unrecognizable. He was reconstructed with cartilage from his chest wall and these photos taken 18 months later show a nice improvement. He is breathing well and feeling much more confident with his appearance.
* Each patient is unique and individual results may vary.
